COACHELLA 2012

Check out our weekend at Coachella!! Well… as usual, I wasn’t actually part of the action, rather my participation is putting this recap together here and photoshopping this beautiful piece of work above. Yes, take the time and admire it all you’d like.

Coachella is THE music festival with which the fashion industry makes a fuss over. We have all been bombarded by too many “what to pack”, “coachella survival kits”, “must buy for coachella” features and newsletters the weeks prior to the actual festivities.  However, here I bring you a recap of the fashion spotting by our users and Fashion Director that live spotted on the fair grounds. There were lots of body art; whether it was real tattoos or people stopping by the H&M body paint booth, it doesn’t matter, adornment is the keyword. For other temporary fixes, people accessorized to the max with big brimmed hats, flower garlands, feathers, flags and fringe. Flowing skirts or short booty shorts were a staple worn with capes and worn in boots.  Eyewear in all shapes and styles added to individual swagger - round, aviators, cat-eye, wayfarers, fabric covered, you name it. (No surprise there).

Some of our musical highlights: Tupac (hologram or not) was spotted on stage, Rihanna spotted in the crowd at The Weekend and performing with DJ Calvin Harris while Katy Perry crowd surfed, Florence + The Machine dressed like the shining star she is, The Black Keys in studded leather, Feist with a full orchestra, Goyte overpowered by his enthusiastic crowd, girls swooning at Frank Ocean’s stage feet, Girl Talk had balloons and confetti flying, Swedish House Mafia had glowsticks flinging in the air and pyrotechnics bursting into the night sky, and lastly, “we wont forget about Dre” (and Snoop Dogg).
